All through grade school my teachers would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always said that I wanted to be a “sew-er”, but I was told that I would never make any money that way. My Mom bought me my first Holly Hobbie sewing machine when I was eight and that is where it all started.
After high school I ended up going to cooking school and working as a chef for many years and then an accountant for many more years after that (I got tired of cooking the beans, decided to count the beans instead, and then finally ended up doing what I wanted to do in the first place). I made craft items and sold them at lots of craft fairs for years. In 2004 I decided to turn my hobby into a company and started Lauren Nicole, LLC (named after my niece) and I love what I do. I have always believed you will be the happiest if you follow your dreams no matter how long it takes.
Even though I started with a monogramming and sewing business I have found that I really enjoy making jewelry the most. I hand make all of the jewelry pieces on the website so most of the designs can be changed and customized just for you.
My husband is active-duty military (Army) so we have to shut the business down for two weeks every two years or so and move it to a new location. I will try to give you as much notice as possible before I move or go on vacation.
