I was advised to switch off T.V when we heard thunderstorm. We want to know the wheather alert soon. We need to wait weather reports in T.V channel and it may delay to get reports after advertising. It is great alternative to have Radio Shack All-Hazards Weather Alert Clock Radio with Skywarn.
Using this unit, you will get warnings before other radio and TV broadcast alerts. It is easy to read on different color LEDs which indicate red color for alert, orange color for watching and yellow for advisory. It is displayed as text and you can control volume settings separate for daytime and night time.
This unit has clock with alarm and dual speakers. All you need is to select the state & country. If your loved ones or family lived in another state, then you can monitor the weather alert and let them know to stay in a safe place. You will get alerts from DHS, FEMA and local management agencies. Radio Shack makes it perform well to alert the message if you miss alert warnings and mute the receiver when the alert is over.
Must watch it in youtube to see how it works in real life. It’s very hot in Irving, Texas. I didn’t beleive at first when the radio is announced of Severe Thunderstorm. It happened the whole night and the thunder was roaring often.
This latest technology has antenna to keep scanning if the radio cannot find a signal. All seven NOAA weather channels are preprogrammed in this radio.
