Ever wish you’d paid more attention in math class? We’ve all been there: Staring at two different brands of laundry detergent, wondering which is the best deal, trying to size up Mom’s tomato sauce recipe for a party of 10, figuring out the fuel efficiency of that new car, or how to budget for that dream vacation.  The fact is math crops up in a variety of everyday settings—from the grocery store to the craft room.  But you don’t need to break into a sweat when it’s time to calculate a tip.  Forget higher calculus—you just need an open mind.
MATH FOR GROWNUPS: Relearn the Arithmetic You Forgot From School (Adams Media, a division of F+W Media; July 2011) by Laura Laing makes math manageable, by providing an adult refresher and real-life context for math—with examples ranging from calculating your monthly mortgage payment, to figuring out if that new refrigerator will fit in an old kitchen.

We have grown up and forgot Math. Now, math is a big deal for us when it comes to calculate as a percentage. You can start few basics with this book and understand the company’s revenue and bloggers can also learn to understand blog statistics. This book is very useful for those who wants to know about the statistics, stock market and leading market.

You get an idea of how to do some math with the skills that you already know–or were taught but don’t remember.

It’s not a stuffy, boring, overly intellectualized tome, and neither is this blog.  I want you to feel happy and comfortable and eager to do some math.  Or at least not so scared, bored or hostile.

    My basic math classes were about 1963 or before. My sister just asked me to explain multiplying fractions to her. I can do it but to explain it is another thing. Help !!

    I don’t think this is considered a good story, but it’s true — and I’m still suffering the consequences! A few months ago I was helping my 5th grade nephew how to figure out volumes and somehow accidently downloaded a horrible computer virus that wiped out my hard drive. GRRRRR! I need a book like this so that I don’t have to be dependent on the Internet!! Thanks for the chance to win a copy.

    Is = %
    ___ ___

    Of 100

    Multiply diagonally… help, I’m losing focus! Or just quickie math when charging to make it an even amount. Or how much change to give the cashier to get a quarter back. Thanks for the chance!
